WOMAN GETS 99 YEARS FOR GLUING DAUGHTER'S HAND TO THE WALL AND BEATING HER

Last year, we wrote about Elizabeth Escalona, the Texas mother who Crazy-Glued her 2-year-old daughter's hands to a wall in their apartment, and beat her because she peed herself. Last week, those accounts were revisited before a judge sentenced Escalona to 99 years in prison.

The 22-year-old pleaded guilty to injury to a child in July, and her attorney asked for a 45-year prison sentence. The judge however felt that Escalona wasn't remorseful in what she did, so she doubled the sentence and then some.

On the stand, she recalled being abused by boyfriends, being molested as a child, and her addictions to weed and cocaine. She also recalled how angry she got when her daughter peed herself, citing how sacred the no-no is to her. I guess this was supposed to justify beating her daughter until she fell into a coma for two days.

The prosecution did their best to break down Escalona's character, flashing the word "liar" on the screen behind her while she testified (a nice touch). They played an audio of her as a teenager threatening to kill her mother. They also said that she is a former gang member who started smoking weed when she was 11 years old.

Escalona has five children including the one she just had while she was locked up. They were taken from her and given to her mother who now has custody. She will have to serve 30 years before she is eligible for parole, but she and her attorney plan to appeal.

WOMAN GLUES 2-YEAR-OLD DAUGHTER'S HAND TO WALL AND BEATS HER

I just don't understand how people could be so cruel to their kids.  This Elizabeth Escalona out of Dallas dragged her daughter, Joselyn Cedillo, by her feet across their apartment and glued her hands to a wall.  As if that wasn't enough, she kicked her, beat her with a belt, and repeatedly hit this little girl in the stomach with what police called a "jug of milk". Can you imagine getting hit in the stomach with a jug of milk one time?

When it was over, Escalona called her Mother screaming that something was wrong with Joselyn. When she got there, Joselyn was unconscious. Escalona's Mother took the baby to the hospital where she is in critical condition with head injuries and of course, broken bones.  Escalona was charged with "causing an injury to a child" and is being held on $500,000 bond.

Joselyn and her three siblings are now in protective custody.

Escalona's family and friends even said they knew the 22-year-old was a bad mother. They said they saw her hit all four of her kids in the past but never thought to call anyone.

She said she beat her daughter that way because she "soiled her pants".  She considered it a "mortal sin" and dealt with it "accordingly".
