According to police, the 4-year-old was often put in the roach and spider-infested cabinet because he was too loud at times. To keep him from escaping, Hamilton would secure the cabinet door with screws.
Because he was locked inside, he was bitten by the spiders and roaches, and when he had to use the bathroom, he had no choice but to urinate and soil himself. When the police got inside of the home, they saw filthy floors and walls, paper, clothing and food everywhere. They also noticed the roach infestation.
Hamilton admitted to locking him up and was charged with child abuse without bodily harm - even though he was repeatedly bitten by insects and forced to use the bathroom on himself. She was released after posting her bond of $10,000, which more than likely was $1,000 - 10% of the full amount.
Laws are too lenient towards people who actually mistreat children. There's no reason why this woman should be walking the streets.
How would you feel if this woman did that to your child?
