WHAT REALLY GRINDS MY GEARS: MOM ARRESTED FOR LETTING HER KIDS PLAY OUTSIDE

Growing up, my neighborhood was full of children. During the summer, we played hard and we played all day. During the school year, after we did our homework, we played up and down the block until the streetlights came on.

One of the best parts of all of this was the sense of community that we had. Every household that had children was a safe haven, a home base if you will. Even the occupants of the few houses that didn't have kids would give us little tidbits of advice such as, "get your ass out that street before you get hit", or "stay off the grass". And if one of us was out of order away from home, we would be reprimanded or disciplined, then personally escorted home where that child would likely face further discipline or sanctions.

We played our fair share of video games too. Ultimately though, playing outdoors reigned supreme. As we got older and children became enslaved by iPods, hand-held games, computers and cell phones, playing outdoors literally became a thing of the past. New terminology came with the territory. One example is "child obesity". Outdoor activities have declined, so kids are getting fat.

Over the recent years, there has been a call for parents to increase their kids' level of activity. One mom answered that call, but instead of feeling like she was doing the right thing, she was arrested.

Tammy Cooper of La Porte, Texas was arrested for child endangerment when a neighbor called the police department and told them that Cooper's 6 and 9-year-old were playing outside on scooters unattended. What that neighbor didn't know was that Cooper was actually watching from a lawn chair and could see them, but the neighbor - who is more than likely a Beastly Barren Bitch who wishes she could have children - didn't see Cooper from her vantage in the cul-de-sac they live in.

When the policeman arrived, Cooper couldn't believe that they were there for her. She tried to explain that she had an eye on the kids the whole time, but because of the Beastly Barren Bitch, they had to take her in. It is not explained where the kids went while Cooper was in jail, but it must have been heartbreaking to see her daughter grab the officer's leg and beg him to not take her mommy away.

After she spent 18 hours in jail, Cooper was released and the charges of child endangerment was dropped. She plans on suing the La Porte police department and the Beastly Barren Bitch for damages.

My problem is the fact that the Beastly Barren Bitch didn't even investigate in depth. She could have 1) went over there to see what was going on like a good little nosy neighbor since she obviously knew which house they kids belonged to. 2) Called the kids over and asked them the whereabouts of their mommy like a good little nosy neighbor. Or she could have done my favorite, 3) just minded her fucking business if she wasn't going to keep an eye out for them out of concern.

What would you do if the were the recipient of the wrath of the Beastly Barren Bitch?
