MAN GETS SLAP ON THE WRIST FOR SEVERELY BEATING HIS NEWBORN

A grand jury has indicted 30-year-old Joseph McFall for beating his 8-week-old baby so bad that it has permanent brain damage and is possibly blind. In addition to the brain damage and the possible blindness, the baby was left with broken arms and ribs.

The incident happened between August and October 2012 when the mother - McFall's wife - was in the hospital for pneumonia. She said that her mother was helping him care for the baby while she was away. The mother - who didn't want to be identified - said that McFall was with the baby in a room when he ran suddenly out of the house. Minutes later the grandmother found the baby to be unresponsive, so she called 911.

McFall has been in the Cobb County Jail in Georgia since October when he was first arrested on child cruelty charges. The grand jury indicted him last week.

Although McFall beat a newborn into brain damage and possible blindness, he was only charged with two counts of child cruelty and two counts of aggravated battery. Wow.

FATHER ARRESTED: KEPT ONE CHILD IN DOG CAGE, LEFT ANOTHER OUTSIDE NAKED IN THE COLD

The picture on the left is a graphic example of what a mixture of  crystal meth, prescription drugs and alcohol can do to a human being. This man hardly looks alive, at all. If he were to be buried today, no one would need any embalming fluid, I reckon.

And certainly he must have been at least brain dead, because neighbors called the police when they found his three year old son, naked and shivering on the front porch, crying to be let back into the house.

When the cops arrived, they not only found the naked three year old outside, they also found a 16 month old girl locked in a dog cage, covered in feces.

A further search of the house found this miscreant, identified as William Lewallen of Tulsa, Oklahoma, in bed with another naked three year old, and passed out in a stupor of drugs and beer.

MAN MOLESTS LITTLE GIRLS, FORCES THEM TO DRINK HIS SEMEN FROM A CUP

A Texas man is in big trouble after Cameron County police arrested him for molesting two little girls ages 3 and 4 at his home. It all came to light when the 4-year-old told her mother that she was experiencing pain. Some parents tend to think that claims of pain is a cry for attention, but I'm glad this mother immediately took her daughter to the doctor.

At the doctor's office, it was determined that the little girl had been sexually assaulted. The Sheriff's office was called, and after a conversation with the child, 19-year-old Juan Mejia's name came up.

Police questioned the "family friend" about the incident, and he confessed to what exactly happened: The girl and her 3-year-old sister walked into his room while he was masturbating. He saw that as an opportunity to sexually assault them in the process, and he made them drink his semen from a cup afterwards.

Mejia is being held on a $100,000 bond, relatively low, but there might be a method behind the madness. After Cameron County is done with him, he's scheduled for deportation.

MOM ON COMPUTER WHILE BABY DROWNS IN TUB

You might remember in January the lady who was playing Farmville on Facebook while her baby drowned in the tub. Well, this ain't her. Meet 39-year-old Muriel Keer. While she was pregnant, she was arrested on a drug charge. Instead of going to jail, she got probation for three years. She tested positive for meth last November, and although she swore that prescription drugs made her results look all methy and stuff, she went to jail and had baby Aldrich behind bars.

On the evening of September 20th, Keer was at home with other adults in the house. She put Aldrich in the bathtub, and went to the kitchen to get on the computer. She totally forgot about him being in the tub. It wasn't until another adult in the house discovered his lifeless body. At around 10:30 PM, Denver police and emergency personnel arrived at Keer's house.

Aldrich wasn't breathing, and EMTs couldn't revive the nine-month-old boy. He was declared dead a short time later. Keer was arrested and is currently being held on child abuse charges.

WOMAN CHARGED WITH BEATING, STARVING AND BURNING 10-YEAR-OLD ADOPTED GIRL

I recently wrote about the woman who did horrible things to her 10-year-old adopted son. Now, here's a case where virtually the same things happened to a 10-year-old adopted girl in WA.

Just like the case with the adopted boy, for nearly a year, Mary Mazalic starved the girl for days at a time.  She would then take her to restaurants and not let her eat.  When Mazalic did let her eat, she put soap in her food and made her put the filthy diapers she was made to wear on her head. She beat the unnamed 10-year old with cords and forced her to sleep in a bathtub or outside. She burned her with cigarettes and threatened to kill her and dump her body in a lake if she told anyone.

You might wonder why she would adopt someone if she won't even treat them humanely?  I'm not sure which account is accurate, but one source says Mazalic's boyfriend's Mother adopted the girl, and handed her over to them.  Which would make a statement I read about the girl and Mazalic's boyfriend being "siblings" true. Another account says Mazalic's Mother adopted the girl and paid Mazalic to keep her.

Police were tipped off to the situation after Mazalic came into a store with the child in tow to buy a bathing suit for a vacation. Two of the ladies who worked at the store noticed that the girl was trembling. Her body was gaunt, and she didn't appear to have any muscles on her body.  They noticed that the girl had a fresh cut on one of her wrists. The two clerks started a conversation with Mazalic, finding out that she was going on a cruise, and that the girl wasn't allowed to go. That she was a "bad kid."

When Child Protective Services investigators finally came to their house they noted that almost everyone there seemed to be eating okay: Mazalic herself, her boyfriend Derron, and even their dog, who looked "significantly overweight." Fat, even.  The girl weighed less than 50 pounds, trembled constantly, and showed signs of serious abuse. After being removed from Mazalic's home by CPS and put in a hospital, the girl gained around 20 pounds.

Hospital nurses who took care of the girl had to assure her that she could eat anything she wanted. At first, the girl responded with, "No, don’t spend any money. If you do, please write my mom a note so I don’t get in trouble."  Doctors found marks on her stomach and chest from the beatings with cords and whips. They also found peeling skin from forcing the girl to wear dirty diapers.

The girl told police that Mazalic wanted to leave those scars on her so when she went to a "group home," people would know she "how bad she is."

Investigators found out that another child had been abused by Mazalic and her boyfriend as well. That child, who has since been sent to juvenile jail, told police that he'd rather stay where he is than go back to where he was abused constantly. Mazalic is currently being held on $500,000 bail. If convicted she'll face a minimum of eight-and-a-half years in prison.

Her boyfriend hasn't been charged with any crime yet.

WOMAN ARRESTED FOR ABUSING AND RAPING HER ADOPTED SON

This is probably one of the worst stories of its kind to come across the wire in a long time. Although this article is safe for work, it may not be safe for your stomach.

Some people spend their time showing unconditional love to their adopted child(ren), but 39-year-old Jennifer Barnes of Gilbert, AZ. spent her time abusing hers.

According to the statements given to police, from May 2010 to last month, Barnes tortured and raped the 10-year-old unnamed boy.  For starters, She put dog feces in his mouth and duct-taped it shut so he couldn't spit it out.  What do you do with a mouth full of poop when you can't spit it out? You do what he did - eat and swallow it.

During that same time period, Barnes routinely burned his penis with a curling iron. Immediately after the curling iron, she would tie a necklace around it so tight it would bleed. She always threatened further punishment if he took it off.

The boy also told police Barnes burned with a cigarette lighter and forcibly and repeatedly shoved a toothbrush in his anus. Barnes, who was the sole caregiver during the time of abuse has a file with Child Protective Services. Still, her adopted 10-year-old son was allowed to be in her custody until her arrest yesterday afternoon.

Following the interview, the boy was examined by a doctor. During the examination, the doctor discovered scars on his penis that were "consistent with healed burns." The doctor also found scars on the boy's anus consistent with the abuse he described to the police.

Court records indicate that CPS has a file on Barnes and has investigated potential abuse in the past, but CPS spokesman Steve Meissner said that he didn't know about the file on Barnes or why the boy was allowed to stay with her after being investigated.

Barnes was booked on one count each of child abuse and sexual conduct with a minor. Her next court date is scheduled for September 15. Updates will come as they are received.

WOMAN GLUES 2-YEAR-OLD DAUGHTER'S HAND TO WALL AND BEATS HER

I just don't understand how people could be so cruel to their kids.  This Elizabeth Escalona out of Dallas dragged her daughter, Joselyn Cedillo, by her feet across their apartment and glued her hands to a wall.  As if that wasn't enough, she kicked her, beat her with a belt, and repeatedly hit this little girl in the stomach with what police called a "jug of milk". Can you imagine getting hit in the stomach with a jug of milk one time?

When it was over, Escalona called her Mother screaming that something was wrong with Joselyn. When she got there, Joselyn was unconscious. Escalona's Mother took the baby to the hospital where she is in critical condition with head injuries and of course, broken bones.  Escalona was charged with "causing an injury to a child" and is being held on $500,000 bond.

Joselyn and her three siblings are now in protective custody.

Escalona's family and friends even said they knew the 22-year-old was a bad mother. They said they saw her hit all four of her kids in the past but never thought to call anyone.

She said she beat her daughter that way because she "soiled her pants".  She considered it a "mortal sin" and dealt with it "accordingly".

ASST. PRINCIPAL'S WIFE FINDS OUT ABOUT AFFAIR WITH STUDENT ON FACEBOOK

When Anthony Alvarez was a teacher at Everitt Middle School in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, she was his 7th grade student.  When he was promoted to assistant principal at Arvada High School in 2008, he was still seeing her.

Last week, his wife overheard him talking nasty on the phone. Instead of confronting him, she checked his Facebook page, where she discovered what she described as X-rated exchanges between the 15-year-old and her husband.

She then confronted Alvarez and made him turn himself in.

He confessed to having affairs in the past with girls who were over 18. According to him, this one wasn't his fault. The girl came onto him.

He said it began when she started showing up at his office every day enticing him by whispering sexy things to him. The girl tells a different story though.  She said he would touch her, and he also showed her his erection in school.  She said he once took her to a movie theater after school, where he had her rub his nipples, rub herself, touch and lick his junk. She said that Alvarez had been blackmailing her, but police aren't saying how or why.

He's been suspended by the school, and the cops have charged him with sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust.

MAN CAUGHT SHOPLIFTING, LEAVES 3-MONTH-OLD DAUGHTER BEHIND SO HE COULD ESCAPE

I don't make the news, I discuss it. I didn't forward those pictures of Condi Rice to Gaddafi, I don't tell hurricanes and earthquakes to come, and I don't tell those guys in Libya to shoot in the air out of happiness like the bullets don't come down.

I don't tell people to mistreat children.  I also don't go back months or years just to talk about the things people do to children because it "makes good internet". This is literally daily news.  I'm not going all Nancy Grace on you, but stories like these lead headlines everywhere.

Now this story plays out like a scene from a movie or some skit. First, let me remind you that they say if a man steals food to feed his family, it's not bad, but if you steal the food, and leave the family at the store...not good.

A New Hampshire man went to the Market Basket grocery store in Somersworth pushing his 3-month-old daughter in a stroller.  He allegedly stole $20 worth of items for the baby, and he made it outside, he was stopped by a store manager.

21-year-old Matthew Sordiff couldn't think of anything else but to push the stroller with the baby in it toward the store manager.  And run.

The mother who was in the store with them, but in a different aisle was charged with being a co-conspirator in the theft.  Sordiff was caught hours later and the baby now lives with her grandmother.

WOMAN THROWS 7-MONTH-OLD OFF TOP OF PARKING GARAGE BECAUSE SHE DIDN'T WANT IMPERFECT BABY

Sonia Hermosillo's son, Noe, was born with Plagiocephaly - a condition in which one side of a baby's head is flattened, and Congenital Muscular Torticollis - a twisting of neck muscles. Suffering from postpartum depression and never accepting the boy as normal, the 31-year old from La Habra, CA. drove to the top of the Children's Hospital in Orange County's parking structure.  She then took off his protective helmet and tossed him off the edge 40 feet below.

The boy survived the fall and was taken to UC Irvine Medical Center in Orange, but he died two days later. Hermosillo is being held in jail under suicide watch and undergoing a psychiatric evaluations.

Although her bail was set at $1 million, Hermosillo is believed to be an illegal immigrant, so she's subject to an immigration hold. On top of the murder charge she's facing, Hermosillo is also charged with assault on a child with force likely to produce great bodily injury resulting in death and faces up to 25 years to life in prison if convicted.

Her husband, Noe Medina Sr. confirmed that his wife suffered from postpartum depression and had rejected the baby because of his medical condition.


"She didn't know what she was doing. Please don't judge her."

Postpartum depression is a likely defense, and I'm no lawyer, but it's not like she did this at home. She drove the baby to a specific location and took his helmet off before dropping him. To me, that shows premeditation.

13-YEAR-OLD BOY KILLS BABY SISTER FOR INTERRUPTING HIS VIDEO GAME

A 13-year-old boy is facing a first degree murder charge for shaking his 9-month-old sister to death.

Crystian Rivera told police he was playing a video game when his baby sister, Linda Beletzuy, fell and began crying. When the distraction caused his man to die in the game, he got angry. That's when shook his sister. She cried and eventually went to sleep.

When their parents came home from work, they noticed the baby's injuries. They took her to Deaconess Hospital, where police were called because the doctors suspected child abuse. They told officers the baby had injuries that didn't match the explanation her parents had given. The child had a severe brain injury and skull fracture with blood clots.

The report says that the Mother, Linda Walleska Beletzuy, told officers her daughter had fallen out of her bed that day. Beletzuy said the baby had also fallen out of her car seat onto the car's floorboard a few days earlier, and that she wasn't around during either of the incidents.

During the investigation, police learned the child had been left with Rivera at their home in Oklahoma City, and that's when she got hurt.  After the baby died a few days after the incident, the charge went from child abuse to murder. Police booked Rivera into the Oklahoma County Jail where he's being held without bond and will be treated as an adult in the case.

GIRL FOUND IN CREEK AFTER PARENTS GAVE HER MUSHROOMS

39-year-old Christopher Ewerdt and 37-year-old Cynthia Ewerdt are in jail on a $500,000 bond for giving their 12-year-old daughter hallucinogenic mushrooms. Prosecutors say the girl was found in a creek, crying early Wednesday morning. Doctors said she was okay after being checked out.

The girl, who is not named, told Omaha, NE. police that her parents made her take the 'shrooms for religious purposes the previous evening. Afterwards she went out for a walk through the mud and a dip in the creek - apparently all night.  During a search of their house, police found 45 grams of mushrooms.  Both Christopher and Cynthia have been charged with possession with the intent to deliver, which carries up to 20 years and a $25,000 fine, and felony child abuse, which carries up to five years and a $10,000 fine. Really? 20 years for the mushrooms, but endanger a child and it's virtually okay in comparison?

MAN ARRESTED AFTER LURING YOUNG GIRLS INTO HIS APARTMENT

For 30 years my Mother has teased me about my response to a series of questions she asked me about strangers.  She asked if a stranger offered me candy to get a car with them, would do it. I said "no", and she kept asking the same question using different foods. Cake, chicken, cookies, you name it and I said, "no". When she got to doughnuts though, I said what any know-it-all 4-year-old would say: "I'd snatch the doughnuts and run". I was joking of course, mainly because I never thought any kid could be lured by a stranger and some snack. I actually had never heard of any incident involving kids being lured by food until I recently read this story out of Naperville.

Jose P. Jimenez-Alejo is in jail without bail after police said he coaxed two young girls into his apartment with the oldest trick in the book.  He was sitting outside his complex in his vehicle when he saw them.  The report doesn't say how old these girls are, but when he offered them some chocolate they immediately agreed to follow him to get it. When they made it inside, he gave both of them a candy bar.  After that, he leaned over and licked one of the girls on the lips.  That's when they ran to tell one of the Mothers.  She called the police and waited for them at Jimenez's apartment. He's being charged with battery and abduction. It may not matter because when he's released, they're turning him over to immigration.

MAN ARRESTED FOR THROWING 3-MONTH OLD BABY AGAINST WALL AND BEATING HIM

Tyler Jonathan Eastgate of Kenner, LA. was arrested for throwing his 3-month son against a wall, assaulting the baby then throwing him into his crib. Eastgate who is 22, said he did it because the baby wouldn't stop crying. When he kept crying, he punched the baby in the face and slammed him into the crib causing him to hit his head again.

Doctors found multiple injuries including bleeding on the brain, bruises to his cheek, a couple of head fractures, bruises to his chin and chest along with scratches and bruises to his neck.

At first, Eastgate told doctors that he went into his son's room and found him to be having trouble breathing and losing consciousness.  He confessed shortly after.

Of all the things he did to his son, he will only be charged with second degree cruelty to a juvenile. No bond is set yet, but with a charge like second degree anything other than attempted murder, Eastgate shouldn't suffer too much.

MAN SEVERELY BEATS 7-YEAR OLD DISABLED SON; DECAPITATES, DISMEMBERS

I don't think I've ever heard of so many babies being hurt or killed in one year as I have this one.  I thought the young woman who tried to circumcise her few-month-old baby with pliers was the worst.  As a matter of fact, the Judge just decided to give her probation, so I guess in life, it pays to be crazy.  Then came the young woman who beat her 5-year-old son to death for breaking the TV while playing Wii.  And the guy who killed his girlfriend's 3-year-old daughter because she wouldn't eat, but really because he didn't want to be stuck babysitting while her Mother was out of town, got to me.  Right after that was the woman who put her 6-week-old baby in a microwave.  That topped it.   I didn't know anything could beat that.

Jeremiah Lee Wright of Thibodaux, LA is in jail on a $5 million bond after confessing to killing his disabled son.  He said he decapitated and dismembering the 7-year-old, then left his head near the street so his mother, Jesselyn would see it.

An autopsy verified that Jori Lirrette had been severely beaten, decapitated and dismembered.  Police say that whatever hit him caused "excessive bleeding in the head". Wright also told police that he'd gotten to the point where he was tired of taking care of the boy, who had a number of health issues, including cerebral palsy and heart problems, needed a feeding tube and was in a wheelchair.

Wright said he put the boy's head by the side of the road so the mother would see it when she came by. He said he wanted he wanted her to feel stupid when she saw the head.

The police chief said Jori's feet and one hand were cut off, placed in several white plastic garbage bags.  Evidence points to the boy being decapitated over the kitchen sink, which was sent to the Louisiana State Police crime lab with a box of tools found on the scene.  Wright told investigators he began killing Jori about 30 minutes after Jesselyn left Sunday to get  her pickup truck fixed so she could take Jori to a doctor's appointment.  When she got home, everything was blocked by police tape.
