STRAIGHT CHRISTIAN MAN PRETENDS TO BE GAY FOR 1 YEAR

Once upon a time, there were two rival tribes. The names of the tribes and their location are irrelevant, just pay attention.

At night, drums and yelling and laughter could be heard in the distance from one of the tribes. One night, one of the younger members from the other tribe decided that he wanted to get a closer look. He got close enough to see from a tree and marveled. Every night, he went up in the tree and pretended he was one of them, as he danced and celebrated in his mind.

One night while in the tree, he decided to get a closer look. He inched down a branch, not realizing that it couldn't hold his weight. He fell to ground, grabbing the attention of the other tribe. They cut his body to pieces and then they ate him. The end. The moral of the story is: Don't pretend to be on the other side because you might get caught up...and get eaten.

I thought about that old fable that I just made up when I read about Timothy Kurek, the self-proclaimed Christian from Tennessee who says that he went undercover as a gay man for one year. He recalled a time a lesbian friend came out to her family. She cried in his arms as she told him how horribly they treated her. Instead of consoling her, he wanted to convert her. That's when he realized that he needed understanding about the LGBT community. He would go undercover for one year as a gay man.

Soon, he was telling his family, friends and church congregation that he was gay. According to Kurek, only an Aunt and two friends knew about the experiment. One of those friends, who is gay, played Kurek's boyfriend. In order to get the full experience, he got a job at a gay cafe, joined an all-gay softball league, and even hung out at gay bars.

During the experiment, he said that around 95% of his friends stopped talking to him. He also said that he looked in his mother's diary when she wasn't around, and saw an entry saying how she would rather be told that she was dying of cancer than to have a gay son.

He said that his experiment helped him understand not only how hard it is to live "in the closet", but other things like how open and flirtatious gay people are. He wrote a book called "The cross in the Closet", detailing life as a gay man.

I don't know what to say about this. Some people are built for doing experiments like this. Maybe he genuinely wanted to see what it was like to be gay. Maybe this was a test run for his friends and family for when he decides to "come out" for real. I'll never know. I just can't see the whole hanging out at the clubs and public displays of affection with the fake boyfriend. The first sign of my mother's heart being broken because of some game I was playing would've made me quit. Or at least tell her that it was an experiment.

I can't see myself going undercover as a crackhead just because society looks down upon them. I can't see myself hanging out in abandon dwellings and alleys doing crack at all times of the night for a year and not develop a taste for crack. I'm just saying.

Kudous for Kurek, and I hope he didn't compromise his values just because he wanted to see how green the grass is on the other side. I can't imagine how everyone felt when he told them that it was just an experiment.

Do you think it was smart for Kurek to do what he did? Do you think he was affected more than he lets on? Would you go undercover just to understand a different lifestyle?

80-YEAR-OLD GRANDMA ARRESTED FOR SELLING CRACK COCAINE... AGAIN!

A Prichard, Alabama woman was arrested on last Wednesday for reportedly selling crack cocaine- for the second time. Ola Mae Robinson was taken into custody after police executed a search warrant at her home and found an unspecified amount of crack cocaine and pills.

Robinson, who was previously arrested in June on drug possession and distribution charges denies selling the drugs, telling a reporter who asked if she sold drugs from her home, "Who? No! I don't have time for no crack cocaine." She then went on to say, "Wish I was, cause then I'd have money." Miss Ola Mae claimed the drugs weren't hers stating, "'Til they found me, I was sitting up in my chair nodding."

Now, I know someone who told me he went to Prichard to buy some weed once with a friend. They pulled up to this house where they were informed they would have to wait a bit because the sellers were waiting for a drop-off. The friend went inside to wait while my friend sat in the car. After about 15 minutes, my friend noticed the police pulling up and began to freak out because he was sure they were going to jail that night. As he sat there in the car he witnessed two police officers exit their car, go around to the trunk and remove two large trash bags. They proceeded to approach the house, which they entered...

A few minutes later, the officers exited the house (empty handed) and returned to the patrol car and left. Soon after, my friend's friend exited. They had been waiting for the cops to bring more weed! I dunno, makes me wonder if the cops keep messing with Miss Ola Mae because she won't cut them in. Take a look at the video...

BATH SALTS LEAD THE WAY FOR SYNTHETIC NARCOTIC DEATHS AND INJURIES

First it was Sippin' Syrup, a synthetic version of the popular street mix that consists of Promethazine, Codeine and Sprite. "Syrup" is commonly endorsed by rappers and used by their faithful followers. Then came Puff, the synthetic marijuana that although is officially banned, still has a huge underground following. It's other names include Voodoo Spice and K2 and is sold as "incense".

Now we have synthetic cocaine. Sold as "bath salt", you can smoke it, snort it, and get this...inject it.

I've read about the effects of Sippin' Syrup and the number of folks admitted to the hospital because of it.  For the sake of being fair, this product's numbers are the lowest.  In fact, things only happen to these people when they mix alcohol or drugs with it.  Even without alcohol or drugs its euphoric effect comes from "calming" ingredients like Melatonin, which is used in sleep medicine. Other ingredients includeValerian Root Extract and L-Theanine

There are substantial numbers when it comes to Puff smokers and hospital visits. There are cases of people losing consciousness and even a few cases of death. Puff is popular because most say you can get the same high and not have to worry about random drugs tests at work. However, the chemicals used to make up the fake THC don't sit well with everyone.

For some reason though, this "bath salt" has a self-mutilating effect to it. Neil Brown of Fulton, Mississippi got high off it and got slashed-faced. Not the phrase that means he was so high his face was all bent up and ugly. I mean he literally slashed his face and his stomach...for no reason. Brown, who has tried everything from heroin to crack said the effect of bath salts was unlike anything he's ever tried.  In fact, he wrote a Mississippi newspaper telling everyone to not try it.  Brown was one of the lucky ones. In Louisiana, a 21-year old tried it and immediately cut his throat with a knife then shot himself.

There's something about these unregulated chemicals in these products that are killing people. Not to mention, anyone any age can purchase it.
