ONLY IN FLORIDA: MAN CHOPS OFF ANOTHER MAN'S HEAD WITH MACHETE' OVER STEAK

The state of Florida has been gracious with providing material for the Insane Asylum Blog, so we've decided to give it a segment called "Only In Florida". From now on, every time a story from Florida crosses our desks, it will go under this category.

I've heard of crying over spilled milk, but killing over spilled food is a bit too much.

I don't understand how, but three homeless men were in the woods just north of Sarasota barbecuing some steaks on the grill and drinking rum. (I said Only In Florida).

Homeless Guy #3 told police that a fight broke out when Homeless Guy #2 accidentally knocked over the grill Homeless Guy #1 was using to cook the steaks. Homeless Guy #1 AKA Ricky Leer jumped up and knocked Homeless Guy #2 on the ground, grabbed a machete, and proceeded to chop the man's head off.

When the police found Leer, he was leaning against a tree, drinking rum, and eating steak. CBS Tampa says the 48-year-old was charged with 2nd degree murder.

30 ITEMS FOUND ON PRISONER DURING CAVITY SEARCH

-- from UPI: Neil Lansing, who had been jailed after a court appearance on Friday was found to be hiding 30 items in a condom hidden in his rectum.  Corrections officers during a routine check noticed a piece of condom.  


Sarasota County Sheriff Officials in Florida said when they removed the condom, they found 17 blue pills, a cigarette, six matches, a flint, an empty syringe with an eraser covering the needle, a lip balm container, an unused condom, a pharmacy receipt and a coupon.


Lansing is being charged with possessing a drug and a tobacco product in jail.  Carrying a coupon around in your behind is not a crime.
